Make this irresistible Cookies and Cream Puppy Chow, a simple no-bake snack mix combining Chex cereal, white chocolate, and crushed Oreos. It is a perfect party food idea or quick dessert treat.

  • 12 cups Chex cereal (Rice or Corn)
  • 1 (12 ounce) package white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar, divided
  • 1 (14.3 ounce) package Oreo cookies, crushed (about 30 cookies)
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips (optional, for extra flavor)

Instructions

  1. Measure the Chex cereal into a very large bowl. Set aside.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the white chocolate chips and peanut butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each, until the mixture is smooth and fully melted. This usually takes 60 to 90 seconds total.
  3. Stir the vanilla extract into the melted chocolate mixture.
  4. Pour the chocolate mixture over the Chex cereal in the large bowl. Gently stir until the cereal is evenly coated.
  5. Place half of the powdered sugar into a large zip-top bag. Add half of the coated cereal to the bag. Seal the bag and shake until the cereal is lightly coated with sugar. Transfer the coated cereal to a large baking sheet to cool slightly. Repeat with the remaining cereal and powdered sugar.
  6. Place the Oreo cookies in a separate zip-top bag. Crush them into fine crumbs using a rolling pin or the bottom of a heavy cup.
  7. If using milk chocolate chips, melt them in the microwave in 20-second intervals until smooth. Drizzle the melted milk chocolate over the sugared cereal mixture on the baking sheet.
  8. Sprinkle the crushed Oreo cookies evenly over the entire mixture.
  9. Gently toss everything together until the Oreos are distributed. If the mixture is too sticky, you can add a small amount of the remaining powdered sugar and toss again.
  10. Let the Cookies and Cream Puppy Chow cool completely before serving or storing.

  • You can use any variety of Oreos, including Double Stuf, for this recipe.
  • For the best coating, make sure your peanut butter is smooth and creamy, not natural or separated.
