Make these easy cream cheese sausage balls for your next gathering. This crowd-pleaser recipe uses simple ingredients to create savory, cheesy bites with a moist interior, perfect for game days or holidays.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound bulk pork sausage
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups Bisquick baking mix
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and the bulk pork sausage. Use your hands to mix them together until they are fully incorporated.
  3. Add the Bisquick baking mix and the shredded cheddar cheese to the sausage mixture. Mix everything thoroughly until a uniform dough forms. Do not overmix.
  4. Roll the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Place the cream cheese sausage balls onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between them.
  5. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until the sausage balls are golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly on the baking sheet before serving.

Notes

  • For a zesty flavor, drain one 10-ounce can of Rotel (diced tomatoes and green chilies) and mix it into the dough with the other ingredients.
  • You can prepare the dough ahead of time, roll the balls, and store them covered in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours before baking.
  • These sausage balls freeze well after baking. Cool them completely, place them in a freezer-safe bag, and freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in a 350 degree F oven until warmed through.
