Scale
12 ounces spaghetti
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
4 cups low-sodium chicken or vegetable broth
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
Zest of 1 lemon

Instructions
Heat olive oil in a large skillet or pot over medium heat. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Add the spaghetti, broth, and heavy cream to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is al dente and the sauce has thickened, about 10-12 minutes.
Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
Notes
For a lighter version, substitute Greek yogurt for half of the heavy cream.
Add cooked chicken or shrimp for a heartier meal.
