Create the best homemade dill dip for your next gathering. This recipe uses simple ingredients to deliver a creamy, tangy, and fresh flavor that pairs perfectly with vegetables, chips, or crackers. It is a quick party dip you can make in under 10 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Place the softened cream cheese in a medium bowl. Use an electric mixer or a sturdy whisk to beat the cream cheese until it is completely smooth and free of lumps.
  2. Add the sour cream and mayonnaise to the bowl. Mix on medium speed until the mixture is fully combined and creamy. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
  3. Stir in the fresh dill, dried parsley, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until the herbs and seasonings are evenly distributed throughout the dip.
  4. Taste the dip and adjust seasonings if necessary. You may want a little more salt or pepper based on your preference.
  5. Cover the bowl and chill the dill dip in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving. This chilling time allows the flavors to blend together.
  6. Serve your creamy dill dip cold with your favorite snacks, such as fresh vegetable sticks, potato chips, or crackers.

Notes

  • For a tangier dip, substitute half of the sour cream with plain Greek yogurt.
  • If you do not have fresh dill, you can use 1 tablespoon of dried dill, but the flavor will be less bright.
  • To make a Dill Pickle Dip variation, drain 1/2 cup of finely chopped dill pickles and mix them into the dip base.
  • This dip tastes best when made ahead of time, allowing the fresh dill flavor to fully develop.
