Make these simple and budget-friendly tuna patties for a quick and satisfying meal. They are perfect for weeknights and can be served in many ways.

Ingredients

  • 1 (5 ounce) can tuna, drained and flaked
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the drained tuna, breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, beaten egg, chopped onion, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are incorporated.
  2. Shape the mixture into 4 equal patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Carefully place the tuna patties in the hot skillet.
  5. Fry for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and heated through.
  6. Remove the patties from the skillet and drain on paper towels.

Notes

  • Serve your tuna patties on buns like burgers, or with your favorite sauce.
  • For a healthier option, you can bake the patties at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • These patties are a great way to use up leftover breadcrumbs.
