Create a memorable main course with this Baked Crispy Hot Honey Feta Chicken. This recipe balances sweet heat from the hot honey with the savory tang of feta cheese, resulting in a juicy, flavor-packed dinner that is simple enough for a weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce (adjust to your heat preference)
  • 4 ounces block feta cheese, crumbled
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons milk or heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. This step helps you achieve a crispier exterior.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the honey and hot sauce together to create the hot honey glaze. Set aside.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the crumbled feta cheese, softened cream cheese, and milk. Use a hand mixer or fork to whip the mixture until it is smooth and creamy. This is your whipped feta topping.
  5. Rub the chicken breasts with olive oil. In a small dish, mix the smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Season both sides of the chicken evenly with this spice blend.
  6. Place the seasoned chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish. Bake for 15 minutes.
  7. Remove the chicken from the oven. Brush the tops generously with half of the hot honey glaze. Return to the oven and bake for another 5 to 7 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  8. Remove the chicken from the oven. Immediately top each piece with a generous dollop of the whipped feta mixture.
  9. Drizzle the remaining hot honey glaze over the feta topping. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley.
  10. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving. Serve this savory feta main course immediately.

Notes

  • For extra crispy chicken, you can lightly dredge the seasoned chicken in a small amount of flour before adding the olive oil.
  • If you prefer a less creamy topping, simply crumble the feta directly over the hot chicken instead of whipping it.
  • Serve this sweet and spicy chicken over rice or with roasted Mediterranean vegetables for a complete meal.
