- 1 pound ground Italian sausage
- 1/2 cup Italian-style bread crumbs
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 12 slider buns
- 1/4 cup marinara sauce
- 12 slices provolone cheese
- Optional: chopped parsley for garnish
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the Italian sausage, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, milk, and black pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
- Form the mixture into 12 small patties, about the size of the slider buns.
- Place the patties on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the sausage is cooked through and no longer pink in the center.
- While the patties are baking, slice the slider buns in half horizontally.
- Once the patties are cooked, place one slice of provolone cheese on top of each hot patty. Let it melt for a minute.
- Assemble the sliders by placing a cheese-topped patty on the bottom half of each bun.
- Spoon a small amount of marinara sauce over the patty.
- Place the top half of the bun over the sauce and patty.
- If desired, garnish with chopped parsley.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, use hot Italian sausage.
- You can prepare the sausage patties ahead of time and refrigerate them until ready to bake.
- Toast the slider buns lightly before assembling for extra texture.
- Add your favorite sub toppings like lettuce, tomato, or onions if desired.
