Create a festive Peppermint Espresso Martini using simple ingredients. This recipe delivers a sophisticated, minty twist on the classic coffee cocktail, perfect for your next holiday gathering or cozy winter nightcap.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz Vodka
  • 1 oz Freshly Brewed Espresso, cooled
  • 0.5 oz Coffee Liqueur (like Kahlua)
  • 0.5 oz Peppermint Schnapps
  • 0.5 oz Cream or Half-and-Half (for creaminess)
  • 3 Coffee Beans, for garnish
  • Crushed Peppermint Candies or Chocolate Syrup, for rim (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare your glass: If using a rim, run a lime wedge around the edge of your martini glass and dip the rim into crushed peppermint candies or chocolate syrup. Set the glass aside.
  2. Combine ingredients: Add the vodka, cooled espresso, coffee liqueur, peppermint schnapps, and cream into a cocktail shaker filled two-thirds full with ice.
  3. Shake well: Close the shaker tightly and shake hard for about 15 to 20 seconds until the shaker is very cold. This creates the necessary foam.
  4. Strain and serve: Double strain the mixture into your prepared martini glass.
  5. Garnish: Float three coffee beans on top of the foam for a traditional espresso martini look. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a richer, boozier flavor, substitute the cream with 0.5 oz of Irish Cream Liqueur (like Bailey’s).
  • If you do not have fresh espresso, use 1 oz of strong cold brew concentrate.
  • To make this a Chocolate Peppermint Espresso Martini, add 0.25 oz of chocolate syrup to the shaker before mixing.
